CIVIL COURT RECORDS
The Civil Records Department handles the filing of all Civil Law Suits such as Divorces, Damages, Garnishments, Executory Process, etc. This department also handles the filing of Adoptions (which are not public record). We require an advance deposit on all new suits of $200 which includes one service. Each additional service is $75.00.
The Civil Department has a Civil Minute Clerk who types a brief summary of what occurs in court, keeps all evidence admitted into the record, and administers oaths to witnesses and jurors. The Civil Department also has a Processing Civil Clerk who handles incoming mail, files pleadings into the record and issues civil process.
The Civil Department performs civil record searches at a cost of $25.00 per name. Our computer records begin in 1983. If any copies are needed, they will be provided at a cost of $1.00 per page. Certified Copies are an additional $5.50 per document.
